New owners Shaun and Sarah Smart who took over ownership of Bishops Bowl Fishery earlier in 2010 are making great inroads into restoring this once leading Midlands fishery to its former glory, making swims accessible, introducing fish stocks and being available to give advise and support to any visitors and customers.
In addition, later this summer they are to open two new lakes for fishing.
A nice little tenchFor Shaun, a former member of the England Youth Angling Team, taking over Bishops Bowl is the realisation of a lifetime's ambition, having been a keen angler all his life.
With his wife Sarah the couple have a vision for the fishery - to provide a top venue for the match, club, pleasure and specimen angler, whilst preserving and respecting the fish and surrounding wildlife, and maintaining the unique environment of the site.
Bishops Bowl now comprises six lakes on a 90 acre complex on the outskirts of Bishops Itchington, near Leamington Spa.
The fishery offers match, pleasure and specimen carp angling on waters which differ in characteristics from large and open sheer - faced flooded disused quarries to small, shrub surrounded pools.
There is a large main car park for over 100 vehicles and a cafe / coffee shop which offers a choice of hot and cold food from breakfasts and snacks to lasagne and even chilli con carne.
