Specimen 2 lakes is the less challenging of the two Specimen lakes.

Being smaller in size at 4-5 acres it holds a large head of stunning hard fighting Carp averaging between 10lbs and 17lbs.

There's also an increasing number of twenties.

Several of these being over 25lbs and one known 30lb.

Uncaught Carp are regularly stocked into Specimen 2 from our stock ponds to keep year round catch rates healthy.

The lake is almost horse shoe shaped with several bays, reed lined banks and overhanging trees.

These features create brilliant ambush points and make the markings very productive and inviting.

Depths range from 4 to 7 feet with the bottom consisting of gravel, clay and silt patches.

(No weed).

Tactics vary throughout the year but as a basic guide you wont go far wrong using good quality Boilies / Pellets / Particles combined with PVA Bags / Sticks / Stringers and simple running rigs with small hooks.

Floater fishing and zig rig fishing can also be devastating tactics.

The lake also holds healthy stocks of other species including Bream to 14lb, Tench to 12lb 6oz, Perch 4lb + and a good head of Silvers, Tench & Bream tend to be caught on scaled down Carp tactics or mini Boilies &Pellets over ground Bait and Particles.

For plenty of bites simple float fishing with maggot will produce quality silver fish all day long.

Specimen 2 lake can be fished on a Day or Night Ticket purchased from the Tackle Cabin upon your arrival, no membership is required.

You can book ahead to reserve a swim or try your luck and just turn up, swims subject to availability.
