Boddington Resevoir

65 Acre(s)

Boddington truly offers something for everyone, whether you're a serious match angler, a mid-week pleasure angler, someone wanting to try out new techniques or a parent hoping that their child will catch a fish.

This venue is heavily booked with matches at weekends and throughout the week, but there are always spaces available mid-week for pleasure fishing.

It is always advisable to contact the bailiff before you travel, and on arrival, to check the notice board which gives the latest information.

The predominant species is carp which were originally stocked in 1999 when they were only a few ounces each in weight.

They have grown steadily and now average 7lbs in weight with the odd fish being recorded at close to 20lbs.

Almost any bait will tempt these fish during the summer months, but they are harder to catch in the winter when the temperature drops.

There are large numbers of roach and perch but these are not often targeted by anglers They do provide an excellent food source for pike and Boddington has produced two fish weighing in excess of 40lbs.

It is not inconceivable that a future British record fish could come from this venue.
