Cleverley Top Lake is an old irrigation lake that is no longer used.

It is just under seven acres in size and is situated along-side Cleverley Mere in Hatfield Peverel, Essex.

The lake is maturing nicely and is now completely surrounded by trees and various reeds and rushes.

Amongst the stock of perch and pike are roughly 65 carp.

They are mostly over 20lbs with a good number over 30lbs.

The lakes largest resident should be over 40lbs the next time it graces the bank.

Most of the fish were introduced at 4lbs and have grown on fast due to the excellent water quality and massive abundance of natural food.
