Although very quiet angler-wise the fishing at Brakes has been very good.

The fish are going from strength to strength and seem to be getting bigger by the day.

The Lake can be found five minutes from the Marks Tey turn off of the A12 (Near Colchester).

It is around 15 acres and is very deep.

40ft in places!!!.

The lake has had a complete make over, new swims and trees planted and new fish stocked.

There is now a good head of carp with fish to 38lb.

At present there are around 10 fish over that mark.

There are currently tickets available but get in quick as I’m sure this is going to be a hugely popular venue in the very near future.
