Hidden away at the end of a farm track just off the main A429 between Wellesbourne and Ettington in rolling Warwickshire countryside, these five farm pools, although only small, are popular with local anglers and visitors from as far afield as Birmingham and Redditch.
Holding a good head of carp, tench, roach and perch, the waters fish well in both summer and winter and are open all year round.
Whilst groundbaiting is not allowed because of the size of the pools, keepnets are permitted as long as they are emptied at noon and 5.

Four of the pools are grouped together in a field up the hill from the farm buildings whilst the fifth, Blackwell Wood Pool, is a 10 minute walk through the wood and across one field.
This makes the water less popular than the other four pools but ideal for those seeking solitude.
Whilst the other four pools are used for pleasure angling, Island Pool can be reserved for small club matches requiring up to 15 pegs at the standard day ticket costs.
Because it is near the car park and has flat even banks, Island Pool is also popular with disabled anglers.
The fishery has toilet facilities for able bodied and disabled anglers and there are ample litter bins near the pools.
Half-an-acre in size, Island Pool is the first water anglers come to when entering the Oakham Farm Fishery. Designed as a carp and tench fishery, the Pool contains mirrors and commons up to 20lbs and tench to just over 2lbs. Whilst there are many smaller tench, the mirrors and commons tend to average between 2lbs and 5lbs. There are also a few roach.Ranging in depth from between two and six feet,

Whilst the majority of carp are around 2lbs, plenty of fish to 5lbs are caught, so it is worth more than a second look.Averaging four to five feet deep, there are two hol
Marked on old maps dating back to 1825 and probably earlier, Barn Pool is thought to be a natural pool which has been enlarged twice in recent years to about four times its original size. Generally it is between three and four feet deep with steep sides, so fishing in the margins can be as effective as fishing one or two rod lengths out.It is a delightful setting in summer, particularly fishing th
A carp-only water with fish running to double figures but averaging betwen 5lbs and 6lbs, Blackwell Wood Pool is set well away from the four other pools and is best reached by parking in the gateway two fields towards Wellesbourne from the road which leads to the farm.
